Courier Addendum
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
This Courier Addendum is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This addendum applies to Providers who perform courier and delivery-type services (“Couriers”) through our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”). It supplements and is incorporated into the Provider Platform Agreement (if published) and all Provider policies.
If there is a conflict between this Courier Addendum and another Provider policy, the stricter safety/compliance standard applies, and any controlling written agreement or applicable law governs where required.
1) Scope of courier services
Courier services may include, depending on what is booked:
- pickup and transport of packages, goods, and items
- delivery to recipient locations consistent with service level (curbside/doorstep/hand-to-recipient where applicable)
- limited waiting time at pickup or drop-off consistent with Platform rules
- delivery proof capture (photo, signature, OTP, or other confirmation as required)
Couriers must perform only what is shown in the booking details and must not perform prohibited services or handle prohibited items.
2) Core standards: chain-of-custody and delivery integrity
Couriers must:
- protect items in transit from loss, theft, damage, weather exposure, and contamination
- maintain clear chain-of-custody and avoid unnecessary handoffs
- follow pickup and drop-off instructions that are lawful and safe
- use required Proof of Delivery methods (photo, signature, OTP, etc.)
- communicate promptly about delays, access problems, or recipient unavailability
Couriers must never mark a delivery complete without completing it.
3) Vehicle eligibility and readiness (courier)
Courier service may be performed using approved vehicles such as:
- car/sedan, SUV, hatchback/wagon
- pickup truck (where applicable)
- cargo van (where applicable)
Couriers must:
- use the vehicle approved in their Provider profile
- keep the cargo area clean and free of hazards
- use containment (bins, cargo nets, straps) to prevent shifting
- protect items from rain and moisture exposure
Couriers must not transport items unsecured in a way that risks damage or roadway hazards.
4) Item handling limits and safe carrying
Couriers must follow the courier limits in the Large Item and Heavy Lifting Policy (Provider Standard).
Operational requirements:
- Manual carry should generally be limited to items ≤ 50 lbs for a single courier when manual carry is required.
- Items over 50 lbs may proceed only if dolly-eligible, no stairs/steps, curbside/doorstep feasible, and the courier confirms safe gear and handling.
- Couriers must refuse or require conversion/reschedule if an item cannot be handled safely by a single courier.
Couriers must not drag packages across floors or force items through tight access.
5) Pickup readiness and verification
At pickup, Couriers must:
- confirm they are picking up the correct item(s)
- verify address and recipient information where feasible
- confirm packaging is safe for transport and does not leak or spill
- refuse visibly leaking, unsafe, or prohibited items
- document pickup condition if the Platform requires or if damage risk is obvious
Couriers must not open sealed packages.
6) Delivery proof and acceptance (required)
Couriers must comply with Delivery Proof and Acceptance Policy and any merchant/business workflow requirements.
Couriers must:
- capture required Proof of Delivery (POD) (photo/signature/OTP/name confirmation)
- ensure POD is clear, accurate, and corresponds to the correct booking
- avoid photos that expose sensitive personal information unnecessarily
- never reuse old photos or staged photos
- never falsify signatures or OTPs
7) Recipient unavailable, access problems, and failed deliveries
If a recipient is unavailable or access is blocked:
- Couriers must attempt contact through Platform channels as required.
- Couriers must follow the Platform’s failed delivery/return workflow.
- Couriers must not abandon items in unsafe or unauthorized locations.
If the Platform allows leave-at-door delivery, Couriers must follow instructions exactly and capture photo proof with location context.
8) Prohibited and restricted items (courier)
Couriers must follow Restricted and Prohibited Items Policy and must not transport:
- firearms, ammunition, explosives
- illegal drugs or controlled substances
- hazardous materials, fuels, unknown chemicals
- biohazards, medical waste, sharps/needles
- stolen goods or contraband
- any item prohibited by law or Platform policy
If prohibited items are discovered:
- refuse pickup or stop service
- contact Support promptly
- document as appropriate and safe
9) Safety stops, threats, and emergencies
Couriers must follow the Worksite Safety Stop Policy. If threats, weapons, harassment, or unsafe conditions occur:
- leave to a safe location
- contact emergency services if needed
- contact Support as soon as safe
- document the incident
Couriers must not confront hostile individuals.
10) Professionalism and customer communications
Couriers must:
- communicate respectfully and professionally
- avoid harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or intimidation
- avoid off-platform payment solicitation
- avoid contacting customers after delivery for non-service reasons
Any disputes must be routed to Support.
11) Incident reporting and investigations
Couriers must:
- report incidents promptly (loss, theft, damage, near-miss, vehicle incidents)
- preserve evidence (photos, messages, timestamps)
- cooperate with investigations
Falsified delivery proof or theft allegations may result in immediate deactivation.
12) Compliance and legal requirements
Couriers are responsible for:
- compliance with traffic laws and safe driving
- lawful transport and item restrictions
- maintaining required licensing, registration, and insurance
- complying with local delivery and transportation laws
Couriers must not represent themselves as Muvr employees.
13) Enforcement
Violations of this addendum or related policies may result in:
- required retraining
- job-type restrictions (weight limits, delivery types)
- payout holds or deductions where permitted
- suspension or permanent deactivation
Severe violations (theft, falsified proof of delivery, violence/threats, prohibited items, fraud) may result in immediate deactivation and referral to authorities where appropriate.
14) Changes to this addendum
We may update this addendum at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of Provider features after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised addendum to the extent permitted by law.
