Drug and Alcohol Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

This Drug and Alcohol Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to Providers (including Movers, Haulers, and Couriers) who access or use Provider features through our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”), and to any services performed in connection with bookings arranged through the Platform (“Services”).

This policy exists to protect safety, comply with law, and maintain trust. It supplements our Zero Tolerance Policy, Community Guidelines, provider agreements, and safety standards policies.

1) Core rule (fitness for duty)

Providers must be fit for duty at all times while:

  • online and available for jobs (where applicable),
  • en route to a booking,
  • on-site at pickup or service locations,
  • transporting items,
  • performing Services, and
  • completing drop-off and close-out activities.

Being “fit for duty” means you are not impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, misuse of prescription drugs, or any substance that could reduce your ability to safely drive, lift, operate equipment, or interact with customers.

2) Prohibited conduct

Providers may not:

  • perform Services while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • possess, use, or be impaired by illegal drugs while on a booking or during service-related activities
  • misuse prescription medications in a way that impairs safe performance
  • consume alcohol during a booking or while en route to a booking
  • appear to be impaired or engage in behavior consistent with impairment (slurred speech, unsteady movement, unsafe driving, erratic behavior)
  • transport or distribute illegal drugs or prohibited substances in connection with Services
  • refuse to comply with reasonable investigation steps when impairment is credibly reported (subject to applicable law)

3) Alcohol

  • Providers must not have an open container of alcohol in a vehicle while on a booking or while traveling to or from a booking, where prohibited by law.
  • Providers must not report to a job or perform Services with any measurable impairment from alcohol.
  • Any alcohol-related criminal conduct during service coordination (including DUI/DWI) is prohibited and may result in deactivation.

4) Drugs and controlled substances

A) Illegal drugs

Use, possession, distribution, or impairment from illegal drugs while performing Services or during service-related activities is prohibited and may result in immediate deactivation.

B) Cannabis and other legal substances

Even if cannabis or another substance is legal in a jurisdiction, Providers may not perform Services while impaired. Providers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all driving and workplace impairment laws.

C) Prescription medications

If you take prescription medication that could impair performance:

  • do not perform Services while impaired, and
  • follow your prescribing provider’s directions.

We do not require you to disclose lawful medical conditions or prescriptions, but you must comply with the fitness-for-duty standard.

5) Customers and on-site expectations

Customers and business users may not:

  • pressure or encourage Providers to consume alcohol or drugs
  • offer drugs or alcohol to Providers during service
  • create unsafe working conditions due to intoxicated or impaired conduct at the site

If on-site behavior creates safety risk, Providers may stop service and the booking may be treated as unsafe/inaccessible under applicable policies.

6) Reporting suspected impairment and emergencies

If there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

If you suspect a Provider is impaired:

  • prioritize safety and avoid confrontation
  • report the issue through Support as soon as possible
  • include booking ID, time and location, and a description of what you observed

False reporting is prohibited.

7) Investigation and evidence

We may review impairment reports using:

  • booking logs and timestamps
  • communications and support history
  • customer statements and Provider statements
  • photos or videos where lawful and safe
  • prior safety history and pattern indicators

We may temporarily suspend a Provider during investigation when credible safety risk exists.

8) Testing and medical information

Muvr does not routinely conduct drug or alcohol testing. However:

  • where required or permitted by law, we may request compliance with testing requirements for certain roles, markets, partners, or incidents
  • we may require documentation of compliance with legal obligations (for example, commercial driving requirements) where applicable

We handle any medical or sensitive information consistent with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

9) Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in actions including:

  • immediate booking cancellation
  • temporary suspension pending investigation
  • permanent deactivation
  • referral to law enforcement where appropriate

We may take immediate action where safety risk exists.

10) Policy changes

We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of Provider features after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
