Firearms and Weapons Policy
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
This Firearms and Weapons Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to use of our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”) and to all services arranged through the Platform, including Moves, Deliveries, Junk Removal, and Courier or delivery-type services (collectively, “Services”).
This policy sets rules for weapons on job sites, transport of weapons, and conduct involving weapons. It is designed to protect safety and to comply with applicable laws, which vary by jurisdiction. This policy supplements our Acceptable Use Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, and service-specific restricted items policies.
1) Core principles
- Safety comes first. Weapons can escalate risk during real-world services.
- You must comply with all applicable laws and this policy.
- Providers may refuse, pause, or stop service if weapons create a safety risk or legal concern.
- Violations may result in immediate enforcement action.
2) Definitions
For purposes of this policy:
- Weapon includes firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, replica firearms, BB/pellet guns, airsoft guns, tasers/stun guns, knives intended as weapons, clubs/batons, explosives, and any other item intended to cause bodily harm.
- Firearm includes handguns, rifles, shotguns, and any regulated firearm under applicable law.
- Ammunition includes bullets, cartridges, shells, primers, and similar components.
- Prohibited means not allowed to be transported, handled, removed, or present in a way that creates a safety or legal risk as determined by Muvr in its reasonable discretion.
This policy does not attempt to list every weapon category under every jurisdiction. Local laws control where stricter.
3) Prohibited conduct (zero tolerance)
The following are strictly prohibited and generally result in immediate enforcement action:
- Brandishing, displaying, or using a weapon to threaten, intimidate, coerce, or harass anyone
- Threatening violence or implying violence involving a weapon
- Bringing a weapon to a job site in a manner that creates fear, escalation, or safety risk
- Attempting to transport illegal weapons or illegal firearms activity
- Attempting to transport explosives or explosive materials
- Directing a provider to handle weapons in violation of law or this policy
Any threats or intimidation involving weapons may be treated as a Zero Tolerance violation.
4) Transport and handling rules
A) Firearms and ammunition
Unless explicitly authorized in writing by Muvr for a specific Service (which is rare), firearms and ammunition may not be transported, delivered, moved, or hauled through the Platform.
This includes:
- boxed or unboxed firearms
- firearm parts that are regulated under law
- ammunition of any kind
- magazines and loaded magazines
- black powder, primers, and similar regulated components
If you need to move or transport firearms, you must use a lawful, licensed method outside the Platform that complies with all applicable laws.
B) Knives and tools
Ordinary household tools (for example, kitchen knives) may be transported as part of a move if:
- they are securely packed in a safe manner (boxed, wrapped, and labeled where appropriate), and
- they are not presented as weapons, and
- applicable law is followed.
Providers may refuse to handle improperly packed sharp objects or anything that appears intended as a weapon.
C) Replica weapons and toy guns
Replica weapons, airsoft guns, and realistic toy guns can create safety escalation and may be treated as prohibited if they resemble real firearms. Providers may refuse to handle them unless:
- they are clearly identifiable as replicas, and
- they are safely packed, and
- they are lawful in the jurisdiction.
5) Weapons at job sites (customer and provider expectations)
A) Customers and recipients
- You must not display weapons or create a hostile environment at a job site.
- If weapons are lawfully present in the home or business, they must be secured and kept out of sight during service.
- You must not ask providers to handle, pack, transport, or dispose of firearms or ammunition.
If a provider reasonably believes a weapon is present in a way that creates a safety risk, the provider may leave and the booking may be treated as an unsafe/inaccessible job with applicable charges.
B) Providers
Providers must not:
- bring weapons to a job site in a manner that threatens, intimidates, or escalates risk
- handle firearms or ammunition as part of Services
- attempt to transport prohibited weapons or items
If a provider is legally authorized to carry a lawful self-defense tool, they remain responsible for complying with all laws and for ensuring it is not used to intimidate or threaten. Muvr may still take action if carrying creates risk or user complaints.
6) Discovery of weapons during service
If a provider encounters a firearm, ammunition, or prohibited weapon during service:
- the provider may stop work immediately
- the provider should not handle the item
- the provider should notify the customer and Support when safe
- the provider may request the item be secured or removed from the work area before service can continue
- if the situation cannot be made safe and lawful, the booking may be canceled or closed out
7) Disposal and junk removal
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and many weapon-related items are regulated and often cannot be accepted for normal disposal.
For junk removal services:
- firearms and ammunition are prohibited items
- you must not place them in junk piles or removal areas
- if such items are discovered, service may be refused or stopped, and you may be charged according to applicable policies
You are responsible for lawful disposal through authorized channels.
8) Reporting and emergencies
If there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Report weapon-related incidents to Support as soon as possible and include:
- booking ID
- time and location
- description of what occurred
- any messages or evidence available
False reporting is prohibited.
9) Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- booking cancellation or refusal of service
- account restrictions, suspension, or termination
- provider deactivation
- denial of refunds where permitted by law and applicable policies
- referral to law enforcement where appropriate
We may take immediate action when safety risk exists.
10) Policy changes
We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
