Insurance Requirements Policy

Insurance Requirements Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2025 This Insurance Requirements Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to Providers (including Movers, Haulers, and Couriers) who access or use Provider features through our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”) and perform services arranged through the Platform (“Services”). This policy explains minimum insurance expectations, proof requirements, and consequences for lapses or misrepresentation. Requirements may vary by role, jurisdiction, and program. If a Provider Platform Agreement or a business/merchant contract sets different requirements for a specific program, that agreement controls for the conflict. This policy supplements our Vehicle Compliance Policy, Compliance with Local Moving and Transportation Laws Policy, Background Check and Screening Policy, and Deactivation and Appeals Policy.

1) Core principles

  • Providers are responsible for maintaining insurance required by law and by this policy.
  • Insurance helps protect customers, providers, and the public but does not eliminate risk.
  • Muvr is a marketplace platform and does not provide insurance coverage for Provider vehicles, equipment, or operations unless explicitly stated in writing.
  • Failure to maintain required coverage may result in suspension or deactivation.

2) General provider requirements

Providers must maintain, at their own expense, insurance coverage that is:
  • issued by a licensed insurer in the jurisdictions where services are performed
  • in good standing with no material misrepresentations
  • kept continuously active (no lapses)
  • appropriate for commercial use if the Provider uses a vehicle or performs paid services
Personal-only policies often do not cover commercial activity. Providers are responsible for ensuring their policies cover their actual work.

3) Minimum insurance categories (role-dependent)

Insurance requirements vary by role and market. Depending on your role and operations, we may require one or more of the following:

A) Automobile liability (vehicle-based providers)

If you use a vehicle to perform Services, you must maintain auto insurance that covers commercial use where required or applicable. This may include:
  • bodily injury and property damage liability
  • uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage where required
  • personal injury protection or medical payments where required
Minimum limits must meet legal requirements and may be higher for certain programs.

B) General liability

Providers may be required to maintain commercial general liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage arising from operations (for example, moving services in a home or building).

C) Cargo / goods-in-transit (where applicable)

For movers/haulers who transport customer property, we may require cargo or goods-in-transit coverage where available and appropriate.

D) Workers’ compensation / employer liability (if applicable)

If you have employees or are legally required to carry workers’ compensation, you must maintain coverage and comply with labor and employment laws.

E) Umbrella / excess liability (if applicable)

For certain high-volume providers, larger vehicles, or business programs, we may require umbrella coverage.

F) Additional coverages (as required)

Depending on market and service type, we may require specialized coverages such as:
  • trailer coverage
  • hired and non-owned auto
  • environmental or pollution liability (rare; typically for specialized disposal operations)

4) Proof of insurance (COI) requirements

A) Providing proof

You must provide proof of insurance upon request and when required by onboarding, re-verification, audits, or business program participation. Proof may include:
  • a certificate of insurance (COI)
  • declarations page
  • policy number, insurer name, effective dates, and coverage limits
  • endorsements or evidence of commercial use coverage where needed
We may require direct verification with the insurer or broker where permitted.

B) Accuracy and updates

You must ensure documentation is accurate and promptly update Muvr if:
  • coverage changes
  • the policy is canceled or lapses
  • limits are reduced
  • insurer changes
  • vehicle or business structure changes materially
Submitting false, altered, or misleading insurance documents is prohibited and may result in immediate deactivation and referral to authorities where appropriate.

5) No coverage provided by Muvr

Unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing for a specific program:
  • Muvr does not provide insurance for Provider vehicles, equipment, tools, or operations
  • Muvr does not provide workers’ compensation coverage for Providers
  • any “damage protection” described in customer-facing policies is limited and is not an insurance policy
Providers remain responsible for their own risks and compliance.

6) Lapses, cancellations, and noncompliance

If your required coverage lapses, is canceled, is not sufficient, or cannot be verified:
  • we may suspend your Provider account immediately
  • you may be prevented from accepting jobs
  • reinstatement may require new proof and verification
  • repeated lapses may result in permanent deactivation
If you perform Services while uninsured or underinsured, you may be subject to deactivation and may be responsible for resulting losses and claims to the extent permitted by law and provider agreements.

7) Claims cooperation and incident reporting

Providers must promptly:
  • report incidents as required by the Incident Reporting Policy
  • cooperate with reasonable insurance and claims requests
  • preserve evidence and documentation
  • comply with lawful insurer requirements
Failure to cooperate may result in enforcement actions.

8) Additional insured and COI requests (business customers)

Some business customers, buildings, or sites may require:
  • certificate of insurance documentation
  • additional insured endorsements
  • specific limits or coverage types
If a Booking requires special insurance, it must be communicated in advance. Providers may decline bookings requiring endorsements they cannot obtain.

9) Verification audits

We may conduct periodic audits of insurance compliance. You agree to participate and provide requested documentation within reasonable timeframes.

10) Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:
  • warnings or required remediation
  • temporary suspension
  • permanent deactivation
  • withholding or delaying payouts as permitted by provider agreements and law
  • referral to regulators or law enforcement where appropriate

11) Policy changes

We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of Provider features after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
