Moves Loading Zone and Parking Responsibility Policy
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
This Moves Loading Zone and Parking Responsibility Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to customers and business users who book moving services through our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”) (collectively, “Moves”).
This policy explains your responsibilities for providing lawful, safe, and workable parking and loading access for moving services, including permits, reservations, building rules, and costs. It also explains what happens when access is not available and how related fees are handled. This policy supplements our Fee and Pricing Policy, Safety Requirements for On Site Conditions Policy, No Show and Inaccessible Job Policy, and Incident Reporting Policy.
1) Core rule
You are responsible for ensuring that Movers have lawful and safe parking and loading access at pickup and drop-off locations at the scheduled time. If safe access is not available, service may be delayed, rescheduled, or stopped, and fees may apply.
2) What you must arrange (customer responsibilities)
You must arrange, as applicable:
- Legal parking for moving vehicle(s) close enough to perform the move safely.
- Loading zone access, including curb space, driveway access, loading docks, or designated loading areas.
- Building approvals required for moving (move-in/move-out reservations, elevator bookings, time windows).
- Permits for reserved curb space, street parking, cones/signage, or local moving permits required by city rules.
- HOA or property rules compliance, including restricted hours and designated routes.
- Gate codes, keys, and access passes needed for entry.
- Clear loading paths from the vehicle to entry points.
If you are moving into or out of an apartment building, high-rise, or managed property, you are responsible for scheduling and complying with building moving procedures.
3) Disclosures you must provide before service
Before Provider Arrival, you must provide accurate details in the Platform, including:
- parking instructions and best loading location
- whether street parking is required
- whether permits/reservations are required and confirmed
- gate codes, call box instructions, and loading dock rules
- any restrictions on vehicle size (box trucks, trailers)
Failure to disclose restrictions may cause delays or rescheduling.
4) What happens if parking/loading access is not available
If Movers arrive and lawful/safe loading access is not available, one or more of the following may occur:
- Waiting time charges while access is arranged (subject to policies and the Platform).
- Long-carry adjustments if the vehicle must park farther away, which may increase time and cost.
- Reschedule if access cannot be obtained within a reasonable time window.
- Stop-work / close-out if continuing would be unsafe or unlawful.
If the job cannot proceed due to customer-controlled access failure, it may be treated as a No Show or Inaccessible Job under applicable policy and fees may apply.
5) Tickets, towing, and violations
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Customers are responsible for parking tickets, citations, towing, booting, and related costs incurred because lawful parking/loading was not available or because customer instructions required unlawful stopping.
- Movers will not be required to park illegally or take unsafe actions.
- If a customer insists on illegal parking or unsafe loading, the Movers may refuse service or initiate a safety stop.
Where possible, Providers may document parking constraints for dispute resolution.
6) Parking fees, tolls, and third-party charges
You may be charged for reasonable third-party costs necessary to complete the move lawfully and safely, including:
- paid parking lot or garage fees (when required)
- tolls
- loading dock fees or access fees imposed by facilities
- building-required move fees charged by the property (paid by the customer)
These charges are governed by the Fee and Pricing Policy and may be itemized where feasible.
7) City permits and curb reservations (recommended)
In dense areas, you should consider arranging curb reservations or permits in advance. If you do not, the move may require:
- longer carry distances
- additional time and labor
- rescheduling due to lack of safe access
Muvr does not guarantee permit availability and does not obtain permits unless explicitly offered as a paid add-on.
8) Safety and stop-work authority
Movers may stop work if:
- parking is illegal or unsafe
- loading zone conditions create roadway hazards
- access is blocked and cannot be resolved
- the site presents threats or unsafe conditions
Movers may leave if safety risk exists, and the booking may be closed out under applicable policies.
9) Disputes and claims
Disputes regarding access, waiting time, or fees must be submitted promptly through Support under the Complaint and Dispute Intake Policy. We may review:
- booking logs and timestamps
- communications records
- photos where available
- local conditions where documented
10) Policy changes
We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
