Restricted and Prohibited Items Policy
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
This Restricted and Prohibited Items Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to use of our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”) and to all services arranged through the Platform, including Moves, Deliveries, Junk Removal, and Courier or delivery-type services (collectively, “Services”).
This policy explains what items are not allowed (prohibited) and what items may be allowed only under limited conditions (restricted). It exists to protect safety, comply with laws and regulations, and prevent misuse of the Platform. This policy supplements our Acceptable Use Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, Firearms and Weapons Policy, Infestation and Biohazard Policy, and service-specific policies.
Laws vary by jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws. Where local laws are stricter than this policy, local laws control.
1) Core rules
- You may not request, attempt to transport, deliver, move, remove, or dispose of Prohibited Items through the Platform.
- Restricted Items may be refused at any time if safety, legality, or feasibility cannot be confirmed.
- Providers may refuse, pause, or stop service if Prohibited or Restricted Items are present or suspected.
- If service is refused or stopped due to items within your control, charges may apply under the No Show and Inaccessible Job Policy and Fee and Pricing Policy.
- You must accurately disclose items and comply with packaging, labeling, and handling requirements.
2) Definitions

- precious metals and gemstones
- highly sensitive personal documents and IDs when presented for transport as cargo (passports, birth certificates)
- controlled prescription medications
These items should be kept in your personal possession and are not eligible for protection under damage or loss policies.
4) Restricted items (may be allowed under conditions)
The following items may be allowed only if lawful, disclosed, and safely packaged, and may be refused at any time:
A) Alcohol and tobacco products
May be restricted due to age and licensing laws and may not be supported in all markets.
B) Batteries and electronics
- lithium batteries (especially loose batteries)
- e-waste items
May require special packaging and may be subject to junk disposal rules.
C) Paint and certain household chemicals
Some household chemicals may be allowed for moves only if properly sealed, labeled, and lawful. Junk removal may refuse these due to disposal restrictions.
D) Plants and soil
May be restricted due to pest transfer risk and agricultural rules.
E) Perishable food
May be restricted depending on delivery type, time window, and spoilage risk. We do not guarantee temperature control unless explicitly offered.
F) Oversized, extremely heavy, or specialty items
May require special handling, additional crew, equipment, or booking category. Examples include safes, pianos, hot tubs, large appliances, and industrial equipment.
G) Items requiring special permits or compliance
Items that require permits, regulated transport, or special disposal rules may be restricted or prohibited depending on jurisdiction and service type.
5) Packaging, labeling, and disclosure requirements
You must:
- disclose restricted items before service begins
- pack and secure items safely (sealed containers, protective packaging)
- label fragile or dangerous items accurately
- ensure compliance with any required legal handling and disposal rules
- not conceal prohibited items inside other boxes or containers
Providers may refuse to handle items that appear unsafe, leaking, improperly packed, or suspicious.
6) Provider rights and service refusal
Providers may refuse, pause, or stop service if:
- prohibited items are present or suspected
- restricted items are not disclosed or are not safely packaged
- handling would violate law or disposal rules
- the job site presents safety hazards related to the items
If a provider refuses service due to items within your control, the booking may be treated as a No Show or Inaccessible Job and charges may apply up to 100% of Order Value under applicable policies.
7) Disposal and junk removal specific rules
Junk removal involves disposal site restrictions. Many items are prohibited or restricted due to environmental laws. Customers must not place prohibited items into removal piles.
If prohibited items are discovered:
- the provider may stop service
- the provider may require removal of prohibited items from the pile
- the job may be canceled or partially completed
- additional fees may apply for lawful handling where permitted and explicitly agreed
We do not guarantee recovery of items accidentally placed in junk piles once loading begins.
8) Reporting and enforcement
Report prohibited item issues through Support, including booking ID and details.
Violations may result in:
- booking cancellation or refusal of service
- account restrictions, suspension, or termination
- provider deactivation where applicable
- denial of refunds where permitted by law
- referral to law enforcement or regulators where appropriate
Fraudulent concealment of prohibited items may be treated as a serious safety violation.
9) Policy changes
We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
