Subcontracting and Crew Policy

Subcontracting and Crew Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2025 This Subcontracting and Crew Policy is published by Muvr Technologies, Inc. and its affiliates (“Muvr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to Providers (including Movers, Haulers, and Couriers) who access or use Provider features through our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the “Platform”) and perform services arranged through the Platform (“Services”). This policy governs when and how a Provider may use additional workers, helpers, team members, subcontractors, or third parties (“Crew”) on Muvr bookings. It exists to protect safety, trust, customer expectations, and legal compliance. This policy supplements the Provider Platform Agreement (if published), Provider Identity Verification Policy, Background Check and Screening Policy, Insurance Requirements Policy, Performance Standards Policy, Provider Conduct Policy, Anti Fraud Policy, and Deactivation and Appeals Policy.

1) Core rule: no unauthorized subcontracting

Providers may not subcontract, assign, transfer, sell, or outsource a booking (or any part of a booking) to any person or entity that is not authorized through the Platform. Only approved Providers and approved Crew members may perform Services on a Muvr booking. Unauthorized subcontracting is a serious trust and safety violation and may result in immediate deactivation.

2) Definitions

  • Crew: Any helper, worker, employee, independent contractor, subcontractor, or assistant who participates in performing Services related to a booking.
  • Lead Provider: The Provider account holder who accepts the booking and is responsible for the job and crew.
  • Approved Crew: Crew members who have been added through the Platform (or approved through a Muvr process) and have completed required onboarding steps.
  • Unauthorized Crew: Anyone performing Services who is not approved through the Platform.

3) Approved Crew requirements

To be approved to work on Muvr bookings, Crew members may be required to:
  • complete identity verification (and, where applicable, background screening)
  • meet minimum age and eligibility requirements
  • agree to required policies and standards
  • complete safety training where required
  • be covered by required insurance arrangements (as applicable)
Muvr may deny or revoke approval for any Crew member in its discretion, consistent with applicable law.

4) Lead Provider responsibilities

The Lead Provider is responsible for all actions and omissions of their Crew while performing Services, including:
  • safe handling and safe driving practices
  • compliance with all policies and laws
  • customer property protection and professionalism
  • prohibited items compliance
  • accurate documentation and proof requirements
  • incident reporting
The Lead Provider must ensure Crew members:
  • behave professionally and comply with Provider Conduct Policy
  • follow safety standards and PPE expectations
  • do not use drugs or alcohol while working
  • do not harass, threaten, discriminate, or retaliate
The Lead Provider must not allow unauthorized people to perform work under their account.

5) Account sharing is prohibited

Providers may not:
  • share login credentials with Crew members
  • allow Crew members to accept jobs using the Lead Provider’s account
  • allow another person to “swap in” for the Lead Provider
Identity misrepresentation and account sharing violate the Provider Identity Verification Policy and may result in deactivation.

6) Customer transparency and matching

Where the Platform displays the number of Providers or Crew members expected for a booking, Providers must not:
  • show up with fewer people than booked when it affects feasibility or customer expectations
  • substitute different people for booked personnel without approval
If staffing changes are needed for safety or feasibility, Providers must:
  • communicate through Platform channels
  • coordinate scope changes and rescheduling as required
  • document the reason

7) Insurance, licensing, and legal compliance

Providers are responsible for ensuring that their Crew arrangement complies with:
  • labor and employment laws (including any worker classification rules)
  • workers’ compensation requirements (if applicable)
  • insurance requirements (auto, general liability, cargo, where applicable)
  • licensing and permits required for the work performed
Muvr does not assume responsibility for Providers’ employment or subcontracting compliance obligations unless explicitly stated in writing.

8) Subcontracting outside the Platform (strictly prohibited)

Providers may not:
  • outsource jobs to third-party moving companies or contractors not approved by Muvr
  • accept a booking then hand it off to another company or individual
  • recruit a third party on the fly to complete a job without approval
  • allow unvetted helpers to handle customer items or enter customer property
If additional hands are needed on-site for safety, Providers must follow the Platform’s approved staffing adjustment process or contact Support.

9) Payment, tips, and compensation

  • Customers pay through the Platform; Providers may not accept off-platform payment for Platform bookings.
  • Crew compensation arrangements are solely between the Lead Provider and Crew members.
  • Muvr is not responsible for wage disputes or payment disputes between Providers and Crew.
  • Tips processed through the Platform are paid to the Provider account per Platform rules; internal distribution is the Lead Provider’s responsibility.

10) Incidents, misconduct, and investigations

Crew misconduct is treated as Provider misconduct. Providers must:
  • report incidents promptly under the Incident Reporting Policy
  • cooperate with investigations
  • preserve evidence and provide documentation when requested
We may take action against the Lead Provider and/or any Crew member, including removal from the Platform.

11) Enforcement

Violations may result in:
  • warnings, retraining, or monitoring
  • job-type restrictions or staffing limitations
  • payout holds or deductions where permitted
  • temporary suspension
  • permanent deactivation
Unauthorized subcontracting, account sharing, identity misrepresentation, theft, violence, harassment, or discrimination may result in immediate deactivation.

12) Policy changes

We may update this policy at any time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of Provider features after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
